Gary and his wife Maryann, both originally from Collingwood, moved back home in 1989, and launched their own residential design and construction company. They have three children, Stefanie, Hilary and Eric. They have all been involved with the family business either in the office or on the job site. Eric, upon completing college, rejoined the company expanding his carpentry and construction knowledge. Maryann performs a key role as office Administrator and field co-ordinator. She is also involved in all aspects of the design process.
Their teamwork and sense of family is essential to the success of their business. As a result, clients keep coming back and referring their friends, family and associates to Gary Cooper Construction Ltd.
Gary is integrally involved in every project and carefully oversees all aspects of Design & Construction. He works energetically alongside his team to make the project move along according to schedule and plan. No aspect is overlooked, no matter how large or small and each is completed to the highest standard of excellence. Gary Cooper has been in the residential construction industry for 35 years. It began at the age of 15 working part time after school and on weekends installing windows, doors and siding. This grew into an interest, then into a pursuit of a career in the custom home design and building industry.
Graduating from Ryerson University in 1983 with a degree in Architectural Sciences, Gary studied Architectural Design, Structural Design, Mechanical Systems Design and Construction Project Management. After Graduating, Gary worked in Toronto, in the real estate and construction division of a large corporation performing project administration, co-ordination and project management as well as commercial design. During this time, while raising a young family, Gary started a company specializing in custom home design.
